A lovely detailed portrait can be drawn with CLEAR, QUALITY digital photos. Photos can be sent through e-mail to carmadystudios@gmail.com. Feel free to ask my opinion if you’re not sure if a photo will work.
LIGHTING
The best photos are those taken outside on a CLOUDY day, in the SHADE, or by a WINDOW. Natural sunlight shows more vibrant colors, but putting your subject in direct sunlight can create harsh shadows that make it difficult to see the eyes, which is the most important part of the portrait. Indoor photos are wonderful, too! Just make sure the face is fully lit and please do not use a flash.
SIZE
Larger photos help to provide the artist with the detail needed to create a realistic portrait! If the individual hairs on the face can be seen, that is wonderful! If not, just make sure that the facial features can clearly be seen.
POSE
Make sure to hold a treat near the camera, so a good photo can be taken of the face. If you don’t have a photo of the pose you want, several photos can be used together to create the perfect portrait. Separate images can be used to place a number of pets or people together in one portrait.
Sometimes it’s impossible to take or find a quality photo, such as if you’re planning a surprise, or it’s impossible to take a photo of the animal. In this case the artist can creatively fill in the missing detail.
If in doubt, don’t hesitate to send me an email with your favorite photos and I’ll be glad to help you pick the perfect photo!
